Apple MacBook Air

By webmaster | March 14, 2008

MacBook Air is a thin, portable and slim notebook from Apple. The notebook weighs just about 3 pounds and available in the height of 0.16 to 0.76 inch, with a width of 12.8 inches and a depth of 8.94 inches. The monitor size is 13.3 inches with a TFT LED backlit display, with support for millions of colors ( default resolution of 1280 by 800).

The notebook is preloaded with Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard (which includes Time Machine, Quick Look, iCal, DVD Player, Photo Booth, Front Row, Spaces, QuickTime, Spotlight, Dashboard, Mail, iChat, Address Book, Safari, Xcode Developer Tools) and iLife ’08 (which includes iTunes, iPhoto, iDVD, iMovie, iWeb, GarageBand)

The notebook features a 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR built in, for wireless connectivity. The MacBook Air supports only a single USB Port unlike other laptops, which might be a drawback (no Security slot or Ethernet Port).

Taking into consideration of wireless technologies for tomorrow’s world, MacBook Air can wirelessly access the optical drive of Apple Mac or Windows PC thru the Remote Disc Setup software which comes along with the install DVD. You can also transfer files from the optical drive of the other computer which has this software installed. MacBook Air also supports Remote Backups.

With iTunes you could also rent, download and watch the latest movies!

No built-in CD/DVD Drive is a really a major and another drawback of MacBook. When you are in travel and want to use a CD/DVD it is not possible.

MacBook Air starts from US$1799 and is available for online purchase from Apple Retail Store or from any Authorized Seller.
