Carnegie Science Center to host Robots Exhibition

The Carnegie Science Center, dedicated to inspire learning and curiosity by connecting Science and Technology has announced that it in spring 2009 it would host an Exhibition for Robots in the name of “Roboworld”. The exhibition is estimated for a value of 3.4 million US dollars and will be held on the Second floor of the Carnegie Science Center (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) with more than 30 exhibit stations for focusing on Robotic behavior in 3 areas (sensing, thinking and acting).
The Sensing area will focus on robot’s vision, motion detection, abilities for ultrasonic mapping etc. The Thinking area will capitalize on artificial intelligence, robots’ simulation and robot programming. The acting area will demonstrate how robots walk, fly, roll or climb.
The Robotic Exhibition will honor the work of regional universities, students, companies and corporations that have involved in the development of Robotics. The “Roboworld” exhibition will be the largest in US and a comprehensive, permanent robotics exhibition.
More than 2 and a half million dollars has been raised towards this exhibition, which includes a million dollar contribution from Mr. & Mrs. Robert P. Bozzone and from The Grable Foundation.
“Roboworld” will be a great inspiration for robotic students, robot-developers and the robotics community!
